You can now add an outline to the desktop recording client to help users better position their head & body when making a video recording. There are 3 shapes to choose from and you can control the zoom level. With these options you'll have flexibility and precision for various video recording needs.

## Why Outlines?

When it comes to video recordings, camera framing matters. The right positioning can significantly improve the visual consistency across recordings, ensure a professional appearance and helps avoid situations were the person is too close or too far way. The outline acts as a built-in guide, providing visual markers to help users align their face or torso correctly within the frame.

## **Outline Options**

The feature introduces three outlines that can be activated via the `outline` embed code option:

- `face`: A simple face outline in the middle of the recording client.
- `dotted face`: A dotted version of the face outline.
- `avatar`: A full torso outline, starting from the bottom of the recording client, is ideal for more comprehensive framing.

Regardless of the selected style, the outline is white and it's opacity is 50%, remaining non-intrusive.

## How to Enable the Outline

Enabling the Outline Positioning feature is simple. Just add the `outline` embed code option to your pipe parameters with the desired outline option (face, dotted face, or avatar). If needed, add the `outlinezoom` option to adjust the zoom level to your preference.

## Customizable Zoom Levels

Your framing needs might vary, which is why we’ve made the zoom factor adjustable. The default zoom level is 60 (60%), which works well for most use cases. However, if you need to fine-tune it, you can use the `outlinezoom` embed code option. This option accepts values between **1 and 100**, where:

- **100** represents the largest outline size, taking up all of the desktop recording client's video height
- **1** represents the smallest outline size.

We recommend keeping the zoom factor at the default value of 60 (%) for the best results.

## Perfect for Diverse Use Cases

Whether you’re guiding users in creating consistent profile videos or helping presenters align themselves for webinars, the new outlines are perfect for the job. They ensures consistent framing in every recording.
