Introducing the Creator Subscription Plan and Enterprise Offering

Introducing the Creator Subscription Plan and Enterprise Offering

Since its inception, the Pipe Audio Video and Screen Recording Platform has offered two solid pricing plans: Standard and PRO.

However, for some time, a growing gap existed between the pricing structure and the declared needs of our clients. First, we needed a plan that offered popular storage options (Amazon S3 and FTP(S)) and higher video resolutions at a lower price than the PRO plan. Second, we needed to publicly highlight our enterprise features and offerings, which have been active with select clients for some time.

This spring, we've put in the work, and we've rolled out a new intermediary Creator subscription plan and our Enterprise offering.

The New Creator Plan

A new intermediate plan, named Creator, priced at $100/month (excl. VAT or sales tax), is now available.

It includes 720p video recording, Amazon S3, and FTP(S) as storage options, a 2GB limit on the recording size, and the ability to hide the "Powered by Pipe" link shown by the recording client. The S3 feature currently excludes custom S3 endpoints. You also gain access to a new method of distributing users between regions, named Auto US (random), which, as the name implies, distributes users randomly between the two existing US recording & processing regions.

You can immediately subscribe to it or switch to this new plan through the dashboard subscription page.

There's also a new detailed comparison table on the website's pricing page and dashboard subscription page, which should help you make an informed decision about which plan is right for you: Standard, Creator, or PRO.

Public Enterprise Offering

Our pricing pages now also include information about our Enterprise offering.

When your business needs more than our standard SAAS offerings, our Enterprise offering steps up to meet complex operational requirements.

We can discuss getting dedicated technical onboarding and/or solution validation to hit the ground running, plus priority support (when issues can't wait) and large event monitoring. We've done single-tenant hosting in the past. We can also accommodate custom DPA and Terms of Service agreements. The financial benefits are equally compelling, with higher volume discounts and long-term contract options that deliver meaningful cost savings as you scale.

If you have any of the needs above, or if you have a large volume of recordings or a significant recording event, please get in touch. These solutions have been in use with select clients for some time.

Updates to the Standard Plan

Some of the existing limits have been modified for our cheapest plan, the Standard plan:

  1. the access window for the storage logs has been limited to 72 hours (in line with the other access windows for the plan)
  2. background blurring has been reserved for the PRO plan
  3. for new subscribers there's a new initial max file size limit of 1GB and initial max recordings day of 750 (for existing subscribers, their current limits are visible in their dashboard)
  4. some region options (individual EU2, CA1, and Auto US based on location) are not available for selection anymore (none of the existing selections/settings have been changed)

Downgrading

Downgrading your subscription plan enforces the new (lower) limits.

The downgrading mechanism remains unchanged, but it is something you need to be careful about. For example, if you are on a PRO plan and use the custom S3 endpoint (PRO feature) when downgrading to the Creator or Standard plan, the custom endpoint will be removed, and you will no longer be able to use it. Changes take effect immediately upon downgrading your plan. There are only two exceptions:

  1. region options won't be changed. For example if you downgrade from PRO to Standard, your Auto-US environments (PRO only feature) will remain on Auto US
  2. custom limits on the daily number of recordings. An account that's approved to record more per day will not have it's daily limit changed
