The EU2 region has been introduced on the 1st of September 2021. It's now time to phase out the EU1 region.

1st step

The 1st step is to replace the EU1 region with EU2 region in the Auto-detect region option. We will do this starting with the 1st of December 2022.

If you have environments using the Auto-detect region option you might want to review your Pipe integration. The Simple Region Switching Guide: EU1 to EU2 contains information about what changes when we'll make the switch.

Long story short:

  1. if you use our complimentary storage and CDN, the final recording files will be pushed to a new storage location so you'll get new URLs
  2. if you need to whitelist the IPs from which we're firing webhooks and opening (S)FTP connections, there's one more IP to whitelist

Existing recordings that are stored by us on eu1 will continue to be stored by us in their initial location on eu1’s AWS S3 storage. Their public URL will not change.

The region setting used by each of your environments can be seen & changed at  https://dashboard.addpipe.com/env_edit .

You can switch a dev environment to EU2 ahead of 1st of December to test the new storage location and IPs.

You can switch to one of the other region options (Auto-US, EU2) ahead of 1st of December to avoid being impacted in any way on the 1st of December.

2nd step

The 2nd and final step is to replace EU1 with EU2 in environments that specifically use EU1. We will post separately about this move.

LE: we posted separately about this move here.
